ISMT St SALOMON UNIVERSITY LIBRARY
Any educational institution’s library is its focal point. It is the University’s primary and core bibliographical support system for academic programs. It helps not just with teaching but also with research and development. As a result, ISMT is developing a user-friendly Library. Meanwhile, the main Library is housed in a structure next to the Multipurpose Auditorium.
The Library receives about ten percent of the University’s recurring revenue. This is to guarantee that very recent books and journal titles are available to fulfill Faculty members’ key research interests and provide appropriate reading materials for students.
The main library, as envisaged, will have an electronic library. It would have a capacity of roughly one million volumes of books in various disciplines and roughly 1000 periodical publications when completed and completely developed. The electronic library portion will include a reference collection of CD-ROMs for quick access to current library information and audio-visuals, as well as an Internet connection to the National Virtual Library, the National Universities Commission (NUC) in Abuja, and other institutions’ libraries. The planned new Library’s reading rooms are meant to be available to students 24 hours a day, seven days a week. ISMT’s new Library is a high-priority project.
As part of the Orientation week events, they usually introduce new students to the Library. They will also take a course on ‘Library Use.’
